You will need to avoid intense, active exercise, like swimming or weight training for at least six weeks after your procedure. This can include but is not limited to sports, especially contact sports such as football.
Even though you will need to avoid vigorous activity, you may want to take light walks as soon as you feel up to it, after three weeks following the procedure. Light walking and exercise is permissible after three weeks strictly, and can prevent you from developing blood clots.
Blowing Your Nose
This may be extremely difficult, but you should try to avoid blowing your nose for at least three weeks after your surgery. Your nasal passages will be more sensitive after you get a nose job. You do not want to irritate them any more. If you feel the urge to sneeze, then you should open your mouth. This will take some of the pressure off of your nose.
Smoking or Drinking
If you smoke, then the healing process will be slowed down. It is best to avoid smoking for at least two or three weeks. You will also need to avoid drinking alcoholic beverages. Alcohol has a tendency to thin the blood, which can cause excessive bleeding. Additionally, alcohol can cause adverse reactions when it is mixed with certain pain medications.
Foods that Require a lot of Chewing
You should eat soft foods that do not require a lot of chewing for the first few weeks after your surgery. You will also need to eat plenty of healthy foods. This will help you heal faster.
