What is Revision Rhinoplasty?
Revision surgery can be a very difficult operation due to the presence of scarring, absence of cartilage tissue for grafting purposes and in some instances poor blood supply giving rise to a higher risk of complications.
Procedure
Revision rhinoplasty should be carried out by experienced surgeons who have performed many primary procedures already.
Revision surgery is required when the previous intervention has not resulted in an optimal result, either in terms of aesthetics, airway or both.
Such surgeries often require additional graft material utilising ear or rib cartilage.
